Want a Fully Furnished Home? Just Ask – It’s a Buyer’s Market!

by admin on March 8, 2009

An interesting thing happened this week. We had two buyers purchase homes with us this week. Both clients decided to ask for all furnishings in the homes to be included with the homes. Generally if a seller is willing to part with the furnishings it is listed in the mls as being sold with furniture. In this case, neither home was listed as having furnishings available. We advised both of them that these were primary residences that they were buying so not to get their hopes up. When sellers live in the homes full time, compared to the house being a second home, you are much less likely to get the furnishings. Obviously those sellers have to move somewhere and most people don’t want to start over with furnishing their own homes. We were able to successfully negotiate to purchase both homes fully furnished. Our clients are delighted. Just another example that this is truly a Buyer’s market. Buyers hold all the power and can ask for just about anything these days. What a great position for buyers!
